Celebrate Columbus Day with Wine, Cider, and Flaming Leaves!

With the long weekend approaching it’s time to start making plans!
If you are interested in getting out of Plattsburgh for the day check out the Flaming Leaves Festival at Whiteface Mountain. On both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend the mountain will be hosting an outdoor festival involving music, BBQing, lawn games, and even the chance to watch North America’s top ski jumpers compete. Take a chair lift to the top of the ski jump and catch a glimpse of the beautiful fall foliage.
If that doesn’t interest you try the Adirondack Coast Wine, Cider and Food Festival. Although the website deems it an “adult fall festival” there are many events that do not involve alcohol at all. There are demonstrations on homemade cider making, and jazz, blues, strings, and piano music playing throughout the day. Also, there is the great grape stomp, and fireworks to end the night. All within 10 minutes of campus!
